Question: Use the short name or the full name? I think the "short name" is easier and less confusing. If however it is decided that the "long name" should be used and the country name contains an article (i.e. "the United States of America"), should the article be put it in brackets. I.e. "United States of America (the)"?

What should be done in a case where the country was formerly divided and is now unified again, i.e. Germany. Let's say the label reads "Democratic Republic of Germany" (former Eastern Germany) should it be entered as "Germany" in the country field or nothing and only the verbatim in the verbatimLocality field?

How about in a case where the label reads Eastern Germany, which could make reference to the country (i.e. the former "Democratic Republic of Germany") or it could simply mean that it was recorded somewhere in the Eastern part of Germany?

Whenever there is reference to a different term, i.e. in this case to "verbatimLocality" should there be a hyperlink to that term?
