Guidelines
Use the registered Index Herbariorum (IH) code for the institution. If your institution does not have a registered code, it is required that you obtain one at the IH weblink below. Note that in some of the larger historical collections, there are legal reasons why integrated collections must be kept separate. Keep this in mind, when retrieving the institution code. For example, the Harvard University Herbaria contains six legal entities, all of which have their own acronyms, see examples # 3-8 below
